This is a delightful and useful book, which much practical information as well as an abundance of inspirational photographs, including many pictures of the whimsical garden art of Volcano artist Ira Ono. The book has an extensive section on food plants including fruit, vegetables and herbs, with a beautiful living rosemary wreath. Suggested container plants include many species of palms and bamboos as well as 35 other carefully chosen ornamentals, including Hawaiian native plants. And even though Echeverias are not listed in the index, the photos show an abundance of these darling and easy plants (which include Hens-and-Chickens).
