This is an book incredibly insightful book. Even though only a very small part of it refers to feng shui in particular, actually much of it is information that is quite useful to anyone interested in feng shui. Here's some quotes: " Your environment is bouncing back at you---that's what gives meaning to life." "People who believe that possessions are a source of happiness tend to be less happy." "We want too much! Life is not just about things. We work too hard to get the kitchen we don't have time to cook in." "The car-oriented lifestyle means that residents mostly pull into the house, traipse past the trash can and tools, and slip into the house through a metal utility door that leads to the laundry room, pantry, or other service area. This dispiriting experience subliminally primes them and their callers for an undistinguished, perhaps even unpleasant, home in which good manners might almost seem pretentious."
Gallagher considers the current fad of the two-story foyer to be as horrible as I feel it to be. "You feel like you're at the bottom of a mine shaft. Your instinct is to jerk your head up, as if watching for falling objects."
I can't recommend this book highly enough. I think everybody should read it!
