This is a fascinating and beautiful book of 32 Hawaiian plants, both indigenous and pre-contact. Each plant has its own chapter, with at least one full-page color photograph, plus numerous other drawings and color photos. The text does not cover cultivation techniques, but explains the historical and cultural uses and significance of each plant. A generous amount of botanical information is also included.
The Hawaiian islands are jewels --- beautiful and precious. This fine book will further your appreciation of them.
